From the Survivor of a Panic Attack
Are you suffering from panic attacks disease?
If yes, don’t worry, you are not the only one.
I too suffered for many years, shortly after my marriage, with symptoms of panic attack.
Initially I thought of it as some stomach ache; however, tests showed that nothing was wrong. After that, my physician thought that I might be suffering from panic attacks. He suggested some simple things most of it you can get on this website, and it did helped me a lot. The important thing required was that I had to slow down and also stop doing lot of things.
At the start of the attack I felt like a train coming from some distance, I was able to hear its sound, and felt its intensity till the time I felt like I was gasping for more breath and hyperventilating.
This normally took place 5 times in a day, and I felt after affects of these attacks for 15 minutes or so. These panic attacks were experienced by me for 2 years, till the time I got over these attacks.
Another thing for which I required help was my marriage. We were married at a young age of 25 years and were emotionally not prepared for it. My wife felt it like a sudden explosion, and experiences symptoms similar to that of a traumatic stress syndrome. Whereas, I never thought that I was not a good guy! My wife took many years to overcome this panic. “To stop and breathe” helped her a lot in her cure for these attacks.
You hear it correct: stop, concentrate on your breath, and take some time out to have some good breather. The logic was that there was not much that she could have done, so stopping and taking the mind off from the situation benefitted her whenever such attacks occurred.
She also had some medications, which I am not listing because I don’t want people to pick up medication without physician’s advice.
The primary reason for developing this website was to help them in overcoming these anxiety and panic disorder through various techniques. I have not tried all of them personally, but as I had done a thorough research on this topic its best to put it out here.
Lastly, if you desire to avoid these panic attacks, or least try to resolve these even before they arrive, then I ensure you that you can do so and it would not take much time either. You require a strategy – something which you can use whenever they are about to come. Important thing is that you require this strategy much in advance to enable you to take control of your feelings.
I will motivate and even encourage you to become a member of various online support groups or forums, if you are unable to meet other individuals nearby your home with same disease. It’s a bit comforting to meet similar people and learn from them that how they encounter these attacks.
I wish this website will be useful to you. You can pass this to your friends too.
Bye
Paul Smith
